Benson Heating has introduced two new ranges of heaters based upon the well-proven Variante2 range of gas fired heaters. The EVRC range is a series of gas fired external/rooftop air handling units with outputs from 12 - 144 kW. Each model can be specified with a standard centrifugal fan (typically 100-200Pa) or with fans up-rated to 250 Pa or 500 Pa. Units are mounted on a skid type sub-frame with both the burner and fan compartment fully enclosed and insulated. Using tube technology heat exchangers these units offer an efficient and competitive alternative to conventional air handling units.
The VRBD range of bi-directional heaters is also a derivative of the successful Variante2 range. One of the many challenges facing today’s environmental engineers is how to achieve even warmth distribution within highly insulated buildings. Until now the conventional solution has been the application of multiple heaters, however VRBD bi-directional heaters offer an alternative solution and by discharging the warm air on two opposing directions typically halve the number of heater required.
A single bi-directional heater centrally located within a building can readily replace an application previously satisfied by two or more heaters. The benefits of design are further enhanced by potential cost savings. The reduction in heater numbers provides obvious savings on flues, controls and mounting bracketry. But reduced heater and control numbers can also decrease the costs of gas supply pipework, wiring and, of course, installation time and labour costs.
